Our current artist in residence is the Austin-based artist and experimental filmmaker Abinadi Meza. For the residency Meza is programming thematic screenings of experimental films from the We Luv Video archive along with his own work. EXPERIMENTS IN DISTANCE is a program oriented around temporal dislocations, strange futures, surveilled sites, ambivalent technologies, and uncanny narrators.
Meza’s work has been presented internationally in festivals, galleries, museums, and public spaces, and most recently at the Brooklyn Film Festival, Cineteca Nacional de México, Mexico City; Festival ECRÃ, Rio de Janeiro; Hiroshima Short Film Festival; Light Matter, Buenos Aires; New Orleans Film Festival; Other Cinema, San Francisco; Proyector, Madrid; and Public Art Fund, New York.
