It’s time we visit Metropolis, an art-deco mega-city caught between the desires of wealthy titans of industry and the needs of underground-dwelling workers. We’ll explore catacombs and skyscrapers, witness the birth of the maschinenmensch, and unravel prophecies in the face of a class war. David DiDonato will join us at our microcinema to play a live score alongside the fully restored 2010 cut of Metropolis, which is widely considered the most faithful version of director Fritz Lang’s science-fiction masterpiece.
