Righteous Retro presents Penelope Spheeris’ forgotten 1985 exploitation film “The Boys Next Door.” Charlie Sheen and Maxwell Caulfield (Empire Records, Grease 2) play Bo and Roy; two small town high school grad outcasts that set out to Los Angeles on a killing spree. Released 2 years after Spheeris’ classic “Suburbia” and 7 years before blockbuster “Wayne’s World,” this unapologetic b-movie is darkly atmospheric and set to a cutting edge hard rock and punk soundtrack.
Texacala Jones (Tex & The Horseheads) makes a brief appearance in the film, contributes one of the highlights of the original soundtrack, and will be a guest for Q&A after the screening. Free drinks provided by St. Elmo Brewing and BYOB is also welcome!
